Ancient Egypt

 

Here are lots of resources to explore the Ancient Egyptians. They are designed for children aged 7+ so some support and supervision will be needed. There are plenty of writing opportunities for all children though. 

 

Writing ideas might include:

 

  • Writing a letter to a character - real or from a legend
  • Writing your own version of a legend
  • Imagining you have discovered the tomb of Tutankhamen
  • Make a poster about Ancient Egypt, or one aspect of life there
  • Have a go at using hieroglyphs for your name.
  • Can you write a letter in hieroglyphs?
  • Can you create your own set of hieroglyphs?
  • Topmarks - Ancient Egypt A good start for learning about Ancient Egypt. It's for children aged 7-11 so some supervision/help with reading may be required.
