Friday 3rd July 2020

Hello, Mercury Class!

It’s the end of the week! Thank you for your hard work. Make sure you ask for your Friday wages!

Please see, below, our remote learning tasks for today.

English

Year 4/Year 3/Table 2

  • Having looked closely at the Anansi stories over the last fortnight, I would now like you plan and write your own Anansi story. Can you send it to me or upload it to facebook?
  • Remember to use:
  • Wonderful vocabulary
  • Interesting sentence openers eg. ‘ing’ words, ‘ed’ words or ‘ly’ words
  • A range of accurate punctuation

Mathematics

Today’s work:

Year 4:  Order items by mass/weight.

Year 3:  Count faces, vertices and edges of pyramids.

Table 2:  Explore patterns made when counting in 3s.

Please work through the activity document files – either by looking at the screen and writing the answers down or by printing off the sheets. Follow the instructions carefully and make sure you look through the sheets before you begin, so you can find the answers, extra support materials and the different levels of task - Mild (easier) and Hot (harder). There may also be activities to work with somebody else on. If there is a PowerPoint Presentation, then watch this first, listening to the teaching at the same time. All the answers are provided.

Other Activities

Thursday and Friday

Other activities you may choose to do today, could be:

  • Art: Research African repeating patterns and then create your own. Use plenty of colour and a variety of repeating aspects. Use any materials you have available at home or even a computer. Upload it to our facebook group!

  • Sing a song a day at https://www.outoftheark.co.uk/ootam-at-home-weekly/. Select Week 6 and then the correct day of the week eg. Monday is ‘Moving To The Music’ and Tuesday is ‘Sing Together.’
  • Spend time working on the Times Tables websites listed on the Class Web Page and then work through the tests you need to do, also listen on this page to me reading questions out. Have a go at Times Tables Rockstars!
