Friday 4th December

Happy Friday, Topaz Class!

Make sure you ask for your Friday Wages, if your parents agree you have earned them, this week!!

Thank you for all the work you keep sending in. Super Maths, Mother Teresa work, plus plenty Art, French, PE and History. Very impressive!

Please try and complete as many of the activities for the other subjects, too, if possible.

Please see, below, our learning tasks for today. For more accessible tasks for some children, try the Table 2 activities.

Many thanks!

English

  • Please read the poetry version of Papa Panov’s Special Day, below.
  • Think about any similarities and differences between the book version that you heard on Wednesday at Bedtime Stories - Papa Panov's Special Christmas - Take 10🎄 - YouTube
  • Now I would like you to write a Book or Poem Review, depending on which you prefer. Below you will find a written version of the story (not identical to the video version), a written poetry version plus Book and Poetry Review Templates.
  • Feel free to write onto the templates or just use them as a guide to write your own!

Mathematics

Today I would like you to continue with the MyMaths tasks I have set for you.

If you manage to complete them all, please access Times Tables RockStars and develop your skills. For children who have not yet passed their 2/5/10s, I have adapted your tasks to focus on these. If your parents can also read out the tables for you (with 3 second break each question) they can test your learning.

Other Activities

Wednesday to Friday

Other activities you may choose to do today, could be:

  • Art: Research the artist Pieter Bruegel. Find out a little bit about him and his most famous works and discover why people often think of his art over Christmas.
  • History: We were going to enjoy sampling typical Viking food this week, in class. Could you research what they ate and make your own dish at home – and then enjoy feasting on it?
  • PE:  Use our warm up music in Dance Propellerheads - Spybreak! - YouTube to create your own, solo Superhero routine. Remember to plan a beginning, middle and end; think of the heights of your actions; consider your travel, balances and timings – and think about freezes and slow motion sections. If you are brave, upload a video to our class Facebook group or email it to me!
  • French: Practise your greetings by using the PowerPoints below and completing the grid below – try without looking!
