Friday 5th June

Good morning Mars Class!

Here are the lessons for today:

Maths warm up. Counting up and down in tenths. Find yellow, red and green crayons or felt-tips. Draw a snake like mine with ten equal parts. Colour four parts yellow, four parts red and two parts green. Label the fractions that are yellow, red and green. See photo below. Now draw snakes of your own with ten equal parts, colour the parts and label the fractions.

Maths main. Fractions. Log on to MyMaths and complete the Lower KS2 booster online lesson and homework task Decimal number lines.

To log on you need to do the following:

  1. Visit https://login.mymaths.co.uk/login
  2. Enter the school username salesbury and password cosine87
  3. Once logged in there is a box on the right where you will enter your own personal user name and password (as seen on the email attachment which your parents received).
  4. You will then see the lesson that you need to log into.
  5. Complete the online lesson first and work through each slide.
  6. Once complete, then work through the online homework task.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5I7u5FMQxHA
Discuss what you know about trees now. Read this information about trees together:
https://www.ducksters.com/science/trees.php

(Note: text may contain some American spellings). Discuss what else you have found out.

English. Now create a fact file/poster about the importance of trees, e.g.
Trees are useful because… They give us … Trees also provide … We need to plant more trees so …

Using the information found out, make a quiz for your family!
Consider the following: Are you going to provide choices for your answers? (multiple choice) Are you going to use true/false questions? Hold the quiz with family members in your household or via an online video platform. It could be a weekend quiz!

R.E. Are all churches the same? Challenge: Create a PowerPoint with at least nine pictures of Christian churches from around the world. Be sure to record which country each picture is from. See the PowerPoint below, I have done the first three for you.
