There is plenty to watch, learn and complete in this unit, so this work is for Monday 22nd February AND Monday 1st March 2021.

 

LO Can I learn the position and significance of latitude, longitude, Equator, Northern Hemisphere, Southern Hemisphere, the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, the Arctic and Antarctic circles, the Prime/Greenwich meridian and time zones?

 

Good afternoon! Today we begin our Geography work and it’s all about the invisible lines that we find across the earth. Please watch the 22nd Feb Geography video in the Video Resource Centre (within ‘Topaz Class’), then complete the tasks below.

 

  • Use an atlas, globe or the internet to find the key features listed above: the lines of latitude and longitude, the Equator, the Northern Hemisphere, the Southern Hemisphere, the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, the Arctic and Antarctic circles, the Prime/Greenwich meridian and different time zones?
  • Learn and write the definitions of the key features above.
  • Using the Earth Map Questions sheet below, draw on and label the key features.
