Blogs PageWelcome to Mars!
Year 3
Hello! My name is Mrs Yarwood and I teach the children in Mars Class. There are twenty-seven children in the class, fourteen boys and fifteen girls. All the children are 7 or 8 years old. I share subject leadership for Science and Geography here at Salesbury and run the Science Club. I think that teaching is the best job in the world. I feel privileged sharing in the children's learning, helping them grow in confidence and become independent. Our classroom is a busy, hands-on learning space where children ask thoughtful questions, search for answers and are happy to learn from mistakes. We look after one another and help everyone be the best they can be!
Our Teaching Assistants are Mrs Duerden, Mrs Cheesman, Mrs Holgate and Mrs Woodruff. They support our Maths and English lessons. They also display our work to the best possible advantage and keep the classroom running smoothly. Mrs Harrop also works in our class supporting one of the children one-to-one.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. My e-mail address is: yarwood@salesbury.lancs.sch.uk
Remote Learning Daily Activities
Hello Mars Class!
I am missing you and hope that you are keeping safe. Remember to get outside at least once a day. Do a work out, kick a ball about or pick up a skipping rope - anything that will keep you fit and active. If you haven't heard already about Joe Wicks' daily P.E. lessons on YouTube, then you should definitely have a look : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAxW1XT0iEJo0TYlRfn6rYQ
Think of the other people in your family. Try to be as helpful as you can then things will run as smoothly as possible. School WILL be open again one day and then we can all be together again.
Keep well,
Mrs Yarwood.
Mars Class Motto
It's okay to not know,
but it's not okay to not try!
This is our class motto. We discuss the meaning of these words from time to time, usually at the start of a topic or in the afternoon when we are in need of motivation!
