Reading in Year 6
Reading in Venus is important and we try to find lots of opportunities to read and enjoy books. Our classroom is brimming with a wide range of titles from classics to recently released titles. Children can access our class library anytime and we have a signing in and out system. They can even borrow Mrs Smallshaw's books too! Our reading scheme is varied and children can read fiction, non-fiction and poetry books. We are also in the process of reopening the school library, where children have access an even wider range of reading material.
Fantastic Book Awards
The FBA books have been launched for this year and children are really keen to get started. We took part in a lucky dip to choose our first book and the children were excited! FBA time is given each week, so children can enjoy reading, share their books and take part in competitions.
The children have been creating 'Jamboards' about the books they have read so far. You can view these, using the links below.
