We're looking forward to the Big Busk next week. We'll get all the children involved... busk around the school, a mic session in the hall at lunchtime, our whole school Big Busk at the end of of the day and at home time too. Here are a few of the songs we'll have on the menu.
Fire Down Below
Fetch a bucket of water - the ship is on fire!
Titanic
A traditional ballad that tells the sad story of that tragic ship.
Kookabura
You can have a go at singing this in a round when you know it well. Start after the first line, when the recording sings "Merry merry king...".
Animal Fair
There are a lot of words and this goes quite fast! If you continue singing "money, monkey, monkey..." at the end, the next voice can start from the beginning and it becomes a two part song!
Boots of Shining Leather
Learn this well before you try doing it as a round! The second voice starts at either "you must have..." on the first line or after the first whole line at "Money in your..." Have a go - it sounds amazing in 2 or 3 parts!
Mary, Mary
This has a little introduction at the beginning and the 2nd verse continues straight after the first.

Excuses
From Allan Ahlberg's super funny poems about school life set to music by Colin Matthews.

Just make sure any adverts etc are appropriate when you're clicking on YouTube! All these looked fine on uploading - just a reminder to supervise where necessary.
Make New Friends
I sing it it twice here. You can join in with the first bit and then, if you're feeling brave, sing it as a round. You will need to go second, and start when I get to 'One is silver...', This is VERRRRY tricky though and we'll practise lots!
The Cherry Song
There is a little introduction for each verse.
A Dinosaur Came to Visit You
You can change the name of the dinosaur for different verses and add appropriate actions!!
Tiny Tim
Can you remember the actions?
On Top of Spaghetti
A piano track to go with the words:
On top of spaghetti, all covered in cheese,
I lost my poor meatball when somebody sneezed.
It rolled off the table and under a bush,
And then my poor meatball was nothing but mush!
The Lightning Tree - slower tempo
A piano track which is a bit slower for practising with.
The Lightning Tree.mp3
This track is performance speed... quite quick!
Truly Scrumptious
This is the main part of the song.
When I Grow Up
This is from Matilda. It includes the part sung by Miss Honey, near the end.
Trust Can Build A Dream
This is a piano backing track. It's slightly different to the one we've been using in school.
Touch The Sky
I've put two versions here. One is faster but in both the introduction is quite long and you need to listen out to when the voice starts!
