Salesbury this week!
Blogs PageSpelling is taught explicitly three times a week using the resource 'No Nonsense Spelling'. The strategies and approaches are multi-sensory and provide children with various examples of how to spell words. The 'No Nonsense Spelling' resource is progressive and builds on prior learning, before moving children on to learn new rules. All children have a spelling journal, which means they have a space to practise key rules for the week and test out different strategies.
Children are encouraged to make independent choices when spelling words in English lessons and will have access to dictionaries, thesaurus' and their spelling journals if needed.
Stareway to Spelling is a KS2 intervention used to support pupils with their spelling of common high frequency words.
