Stegosaurus - Reception

As some children are back at school in their 'bubbles', emails may not be answered as quickly as they have been throughout the school closure.

Mrs Fox will be in school on Monday and Tuesday and Mrs Chambers on Thursday and Friday, please bear with us in regards to communications via emails and Facebook on these days.

We are continuing to set the home learning tasks which can be now be found in one document to make it easier for you to access, hopefully! There will be four activities to choose from, please do not feel pressured to complete them all, just do what you can.

Please can all learning now be posted on Tapestry or sent via email. Thank you smiley

Welcome to Stegosaurus!

Reception

Matthew 5:16

Our Class Quote is:

I never say “I can’t”, I always say “I will try”

In our class there are 25 Reception children. Our teachers are Mrs Fox and Mrs Chambers. (Mrs Fox teaches on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Mrs Chambers teaches on Thursday and Friday) Our teaching assistant is Miss Eastham who is in our class every day. Mrs Patel also supports us in our classroom everyday and Miss Riley and Mrs Holgate also help us with our learning.

In Stegosaurus we will support your child to gain an excellent foundation for their learning, skills such as independence, sharing, tolerance and responsibility will be encouraged.  Growth Mindset plays an important role in our classroom, reflected in our class motto above.  We hope your children will leave our class as happy and thriving, independent and resilient individuals, ready to take on the world!

Things children need in school:

Wellies

P.E. kit

Water bottles (please ensure these are filled with fresh water daily)

Book bags – reading books must be brought into school every day

Please ensure your child has suitable clothing for the weather/time of year e.g. raincoat, sunhat, hat and gloves.

Please make sure everything your child has in school is clearly labelled.

Toast is available at morning break each day and costs 20p. If you would like your child to have toast then you will need to send them in with 20p in a labelled envelope, wallet or purse each day. Children must be responsible for their own money.

PE is on a Thursday, however, it is useful for your child to have their PE kit in school each day.  Earrings are not part of the Key Stage One uniform and children will not be able to safely take part in PE lessons should they be wearing them.

Please drop off and collect your child from the outside reception door underneath the canopy. A member of staff will always be there to greet your child and help them if needed. To encourage independence we ask that you allow them to come into the classroom by themselves.
