Thursday 25th November

Good Morning!

I hope you are all OK. Well done for completing and sending all your work yesterday. Your learning for today is below.  Please do email your completed work to me - thank you!

Maths

1 - Work through day four of 5 A Day.

2 - Watch the video on this link and work through the lesson slides.  You are familiar with these as we use them in class. Aut6.9.1 - Mixed numbers to improper fractions on Vimeo

I am also attaching the teaching slides below if the video does not work.

3 - Complete the Maths tasks on the sheet below.  I have also posted the answers.

4 - There is some further Maths on LBQ to practise and reason your thinking.

English

Today we are going to write the other three parts to our biography about John Lennon.  I'd like you to write the Life in the Beatles paragraph, Later life and your conclusion.  Please follow your plan and use the cohesion sheet to ensure you keep your writing formal and move ideas on.

Remember, after each sentence: re-read your work, look at your spellings and check you have remembered your punctuation.  Try to apply the skills you used last week when you wrote your biography about Charles Darwin.

Once complete, please do send me the rest of your biography.  Do keep hold of it as we will be editing and redrafting them on Friday.

Reading

1 - Complete the lesson on the LBQ site.  The code you need is: xsyz

2 - Draw a table with three columns, label them Know, What and Learn.

In the Know column write down 5 bullet points of things you know about polar bears.  Then watch the clip using the link below.

Science KS1 / KS2: Polar bears in their habitat (no narration) - BBC Teach

After watching the clip, write down 5 questions in the What column.  Remember to start your questions with question words: who, what, when, where, how & why.

Then watch the clip below and write down two things you have learned from the clip in the Learn column.

Now use the internet, and precise searches, to answer your questions and add these facts to the Learn column.

Computing

Today you will be using Tinkercad, producing a model of a pencil holder desk tidy, which needs to be a specific size to hold the stationery.  The teaching slides that you need for the lesson are below and I have also added some extra resources that you can access, use and stretch yourself. We will look at your projects when you return to school next week.
