Good Morning Mars Class!

Here are the lessons for today:

Maths warm up. Recall and use multiplication and division facts for the 4 times table. Choose a random fact from the 4 times table (e.g. 8 x 4). Make an array that demonstrates this using a coloured pen or crayon. Now pick up your pencil and record all the number sentences you can relating to the array. Repeat. See photo below.

Maths main. Interpreting data using pictograms. Calculate the number of television programmes children prefer to watch. See PowerPoint below. Look carefully at the key. Work out how many children the symbol represents in each set of questions. See PowerPoints for Maths main and answers below.

English. Design your own recipe using eggs, with ingredients you have at home.
Write your new recipe. Check each sentence for spelling and punctuation. See examples of recipes at:

Guided Reading. The Stone Trolls: Reading Quiz. Re-read the story of The Stone Trolls then try and answer the questions. See page 9 of the Talk for Writing booklet below.  

French. Fruit and vegetables art gallery. Draw each of the fruit and vegetables in the picture frames provided. Then cut them out and glue them down in your book from your most to least favourite fruit and vegetable. See PowerPoint below.
