1 - Complete the 5 a day activity below.  Check your answers when you've completed it and remember to correct any errors.

3 - Below is a link to some Reasoning Tasks I'd like you to work through.  You were given these in paper form, but don't worry if you can't locate them.  Try to work through three questions each day.  The answers are also included on the next page. 

English

Re-read the Tin extract, available on the link below the lesson. 

 

Collect phrases which suggest that Jack wants to be sold.


Think about and record in writing, responses to the following questions:
• In what ways does Jack try to secure his sale?
• Why do you think that Jack wanted to be sold?

 

“Christopher tried to dampen the hot, sickening anger he felt.”
• Why was Christopher so unhappy about the sale?

 

Use a dictionary or thesaurus to define the word ‘humanely’.
• Which character behaves the most humanely in this chapter? Why?
• Which character behaves in the least humane way in this chapter? Why?

Spelling

Practise the word embarrass by writing it in different colours and then speed write it.
