Wednesday 22nd April

Good Morning Mars Class!

Here are the lessons for today:

Maths warm up. Recall and use multiplication and division fact for the 3 times table. Start by counting in threes from 0 to 36 and back again.

Then search for things to count like dried pasta, beads, buttons or beans. Make an array from 4 columns of 3. See photo below. Write as many number sentences as you can about the array. Now make a new array to see how many columns of 4 there are in 12. Write as many number sentences you can for the new array. What do you notice?

Maths main. Time. AM and PM using analogue and digital clocks. See PowerPoint below.

English. Trolls. Look at the Talk for Writing booklet, The Truth about Trolls, below. Today we are going learn how to use adverbs. The challenges on pages 10, 11 and 12 will help you describe the how, where, when and why of everything. Save your writing so that you can use it when you write your own information text later in the week. Extension work is on page 13.

Guided Reading. The Twits by Roald Dahl. Re-read the chapter about Mrs Twit. Re-read the chapter together about Mrs Twit at https://epdf.pub/the-twits.html or see PowerPoint below. Print this if you can so you can use a highlighter pen. Highlight (or make notes on) all the information you read about Mrs Twit. Now create a fact file, poster or Top Trumps card about Mrs Twit using the information you have read. Check your spelling and punctuation.

French. Learn how to say the names of fruit and vegetables in French. Follow this link:
