Moon Reception/Year 1 2025 - 2026
Miss Cummins
Welcome!
Welcome to Moon Class, our class teacher is Miss Cummins and our Teaching Assistants are Miss Berry, Miss Garmston and Mrs Barton. We are really looking forward to all the learning, playing and fun we will be having together.
We have a fantastic learning environment indoors across both Star and Moon classrooms, and a shared outdoor area too. We are very lucky to share our outdoor area with Nursery and Reception also have weekly Forest School sessions. A typical day in our class involves opportunities for learning together as a whole class, teacher-led inputs in small groups and learning through play across our indoor and outdoor spaces.
A little bit about us!
Hello, my name is Miss Cummins! This is my fifth class at Salesbury and I'm looking forward to be teaching Reception and Year 1 again this year. I think it is one of the most magical jobs in the world. I am very passionate about young children's education and have a degree in Early Years Education along with a Masters in Early Childhood and Developmental Psychology. I love reading, travelling to new places and going on long walks with my three dogs- Bertie, Belle and Betsy. I'm so excited to get to know you all this year and for the wonderful learning journey we will go on together!
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or if you need a chat! You can catch us on the gate after school, drop us an email or arrange a telephone conversation. We are really looking forward to working with you this year!

Reflection
How can we be kind to each other?
- sharing
- listening
- taking turns
- using kind hands
- choosing kind words
- helping each other
- cheering each other up
- smiling
There are lots of ways we can show kindness at school, how can you show kindness at home?
Agents of Change Project
Our big question:
How can we help people who are lonely?
Rooted in faith!
Prayer is action!
We have written this prayer together and say it at the end of every school day. This prayer will guide our actions as we think of ways to help people who are lonely.
