An Overview for Prospective Parents

Thank you for finding us. Please do come and see what we are all about - give our school office a ring on 01254244580 and Mr Connell or Mrs Elvy will get you booked in.

To give you a flavour, we offer:-

  • A nursery/pre-school - full or part-time places are available. There is always a classroom teacher and teaching assistants to guide your child's learning. We welcome children from the term after they become three. They work in close conjunction with the rest of the school following the same curriculum through a very special nursery lens! Our nursery uses the outdoors to capture children's interest and curiosity. Childcare Vouchers may be used and could also be linked to our wraparound care.

  • Wraparound care - we offer school-led wraparound care. All the staff working within 'Salesbury Sunflowers' are Teaching Assistants in school. It opens at 7.45am and closes at 5.45pm. You can book your places ahead but we also have an adhoc booking system to support shift workers and occasional/irregular need for childcare.

  • On site holiday provision is available in school all year round. The club welcomes children from 3 years old and offer a range of exciting activities and sports to keep your child safe, busy and entertained in the school holidays. Childcare Vouchers may be used.

  • Our bespoke curriculum has been written by school leaders at the school that delivers the National Curriculum and more making the most of our fabulous surroundings.

  • A rich extra-curricular menu is offered to children which changes regularly through the school including sporting teams, artistic opportunities, languages - French and Latin, music and leadership.

  • We value close links with St Peter's Church which enriches our Christian ethos offering all children a day intertwined with questions, prayer, challenge and reflection.

  • We provide communication in a range of forms hoping that there is something for everyone - weekly newsletter, open Facebook community, closed online Facebook groups, Website App, Instagram, X, telephone, email and of course - face to face!

  • Children that leave us follow a range of pathways to Key Stage 3 - this year 10 children are going to Clitheroe Royal Grammar School, 15 children are going to Ribblesdale, 10 children are going to St Augustine's Roman Catholic High School, 1 to St Christopher's Accrington, 1 to St. Bede's and 3 children are going to independent schools.
