Pig Heart Boy - Year 6 Reading Club

Pupils have continued to read the first 7 chapters of the story at our reading club.  Here are their most recent thoughts...

I think the story is really intense but really good because the picture on the front cover is really
good and the vocabulary is really good. I like how action-packed it is and the blurb is really
good. Also, the mum has just said without letting Cameron and dad know that she is having a
baby and Cameron is delighted that if he survives, he gets a baby brother or sister. The pig’s
name that is going in Cameron’s heart is Trudy and Dr Bryce said she was really strong and
always bossed around her brothers and sisters.  Luke

So far we have read up to chapter 7.I like this book now we are deeper into
the story it is a really good book.Since Dr.Bryce (the doctor) had come to
see cameron lots changed they are now at the hospital they have seen the
pig and they got a surprise that Mum was pregnant which Cameron is super
excited about. This book is brilliant so far what I have read is really
good. The story got off to a very slow start that is what I thought and then
like I said now we are deeper into the story it is really good.This book
makes me want to read on! Out of all so far I really like this book!!!!  Finley

Chapters 4-7
I think this story is really good because at the moment there is a lot going on in the story
because the mum has just announced that she will be having a baby in a couple of
months.Cam is very excited about the baby and really wants to look after him or her.
Cam has been to see his pig that will soon hopefully be going into his heart, called
trudy. He is quite worried about his family disintegrating and not spending enough time
with each other and everyone is arguing, especially the parents. Dr Bryce has also told
them that Trudy is very strong, intelligent and clumsy.  Harry

Chapters 3-7
I like the book so far because it makes you want to read
on and there are alot of cliffhangers. I like that there has
been a twist in the story because mum is now pregnant
and Cameron has met Trudy the pig. I don’t like how mum
did not tell dad or Cameron that she is having a baby; I
also do not like how dad told Cameron very last minute
that Dr. Bryce was coming. My questions about the story
are: What will the baby be called? Will Cameron live to see
the baby? Why did mum not tell dad that she was having
a baby? Ella
