Autumn Curriculum
Primary Bias - History - Chronology, Interpretation and Enquiry - Extended Unit
Autumn 2025
During the Autumn term, we take a journey through time to explore the chronology of an important part of our society. By doing this, we can understand and appreciate the contribution the people who have lived before us have made to our development. We have chosen several 'pit-stops' along our journeys to delve a little deeper into set time periods to build our understanding of chronology and consider wider factors.

Science Units
Alongside our historical units, science is taught as discrete lessons which are informed by the Kapow schemes of work.
EYFS and Key Stage 1 look at the properties and uses of materials.
Lower Key Stage 2 investigate rocks and soils.
Year 4 and 5 deepen their understanding of the formation of fossils
Year 5 and 6 explore evolution and inheritance
Autumn Unit 2 - Create and Celebrate
December is an exciting time in a primary school and we want to embrace all it brings. A shorter unit is introduced after our Advent Day (always as near to the 1st December as possible) and embraces Religious Education, Art and Music. We take time to discover, explore and use different artistic techniques before applying this to create something seasonal.
We use our DT and enterprise skills to create products to sell at our Christmas market. The term always finishes with our Reflection Day - a day of calm and preparation amidst the busy-ness of the season.
